Episode 127: Velma + Shaggy <3

Welcome to the first episode of Here’s the Scoob, a podcast dedicated to keeping you in the groove with everyone’s, like, favorite mystery-solving gang. The new Scooby-Doo cartoon gets points for complex character growth and demerits for use of cell phones, but the high jinks eventually (and inevitably) drift into JRPG territory thanks to Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Everything Else. Without Cameron there to implement draconian anti-WoW policies, western RPGs get some room to breath as well– oh, and Kirby eats multiple trains in Kirby Triple Deluxe, did you know that? It’s very cool.

  1. Huzzah! No technical issues this week!
Some great conversations about RPGs in this and last weeks episodes. It’s a genre I haven’t played all that many games in, so I found what you discussed to be very interesting.
Also, no love for Kirby’s Epic Yarn?

  2. Yes! You bring grand news!

I’m glad you’re cool with RPGs, because Cameron’s the only force stopping us from talking about them non-stop. That and Scooby-Doo.

And I do love Kirby’s Epic Yarn with huge portions of my heart– or at least how it looks, sounds, and feels. I just don’t like the gameplay very much. But if you want to hear lots more about Kirby music, check out the Whales are Whales network for Train Station at 8 this Saturday.

    • OK, I must concede that you are entirely right about Kirby’s Epic Yarn. The gameplay is basic at best. It’s just that everything else about it is so darned charming that I can’t help but love it! I will make sure to tune into Train Station At 8 later today too.

Say something, will ya!
